Path of Exile Item Upgrading
In Path of Exile, item upgrading is one of the best ways to upgrade your gear without relying on large-ticket drops or trade. item upgrades will teach you how to upgrade your gear effectively.
Upgrades in equipment can add an additional bonus to the item's base stats. The bonus increases with upgrade component level and rarity.

Components
Upgrade components are the parts that make your weapons and armor more effective. You can find them by destroying enemies, buying them from karma sellers or finding them in item-spheres. They can also be salvaged from equipment that contains them, or by utilizing an advanced salvage kit like the Black Lion Salvage Kit or Ascended Salvage Tool. Upgrade components are not destroyed when they are removed from an item.
Upgrade components are typically used to upgrade an item but they can also be used for other reasons. They can be stacked to increase the quality of an upgradeable item or they can be used to boost the experience gained when upgrading an existing weapon or piece of gear. They can also be forged to provide extra bonuses. For example, a created glyph can increase the upgrade chance of its target, and a boost upgrade will boost the defense or attack quality of a weapon or armor.
Selecting an upgrade template in the GUI will allow you to bind it to an item. This will display the upgrade components that the item can be updated. Alternately, you can use the workbench to select an upgrade template. In either scenario, an item will be upgraded after enough upgrade components have been gathered.
Each component is assigned an experience multiplier. This determines the amount of experience an item gains when upgraded with that component. Organic components, for example have an increased multiplier of experience than mechanical components. It is recommended to upgrade your organic components first until you reach the next rank in the weapon or equipment then switch to mechanical upgrades.
Each item has a maximum upgrade number that it is possible to receive. The number of upgrades available is determined by its upgradeable rank and the upgrade type of the upgradeable item. The most powerful upgrade is a weapon that is the tier 10. However, the most commonly used upgrade for weapons is the tier 6 weapon and a tier 5 armor upgrade.
Sets
A set is a collection of objects which all have the same bonus. Each item in the set can be upgraded at least one time, and the upgrade increases its guaranteed bonuses. When you first upgrade an item, its initial stat will be +1. In subsequent upgrades, the primary stats will be boosted a bit further (for example, +1 to 12+/13+/14+) Every time you upgrade the item, one of its extra stats is increased randomly.
Upgrades can also boost the damage base of a weapon. This can be crucial for certain builds. However, weapons can't be upgraded to have a greater defense base than their base. It is possible to increase the value of certain set and unique items by upgrading them, but they may not always be better than a Runeword with a high level.
If an item you're upgrading has a guarantee bonus that is guaranteed, it can be rerolled once, and then its guarantee will be reset to 0. Rerolling costs the same amount of power dice as bringing an item, but the new item will have various bonuses. Upgrading can be done through the NPC [Armor] Boboko in the Central Flarine. To upgrade an item, you will require a power die of each type (Dice 4 or 6 drop from monsters 21+ and Giants; Dice 7 drops from bosses) and the right amount of Minerals and Erons. These can be bought with Gold at the crafting table, or in the Ultra Collection. NPCs will also provide special rewards for each completed level of the upgrade process. This reward is rerollable once and will be made using the same materials as the original item.
Rerolling
If a player has enough to reroll tokens, they are able to play rerolling any item they have acquired during the game. When an upgraded item is rerolled, it will be exchanged for a version that is level 1 of the same item in a different set. Reroll tokens can be purchased in the shop for a small sum of in-game currency. They cannot be refunded. The new item will come with the same extra bonuses as the previous one, but the stats will also differ.
In addition to rerolling items, players can also alter the identification of any equipment by engaging with an upgrader NPC. This will change the identity from an armor to a weapon or vice versa, all the while keeping its basic stats and the attributes it requires. The change is permanent and will affect all characters who are wearing the gear.
Players can also boost the level of an item equipped equipment by obtaining upgrade components and interacting with the item's upgrader NPC. The cost will vary depending on the upgrade track, the item type, and the number of crests. In the case of weapons, each step will add 5percent to the damage.
Upgrades can increase the capability of an item, however they also decrease its quality. Therefore, it is important to keep both in check. Certain items might not be worth upgrading at all however, others will need to be upgraded to maximize their potential. For example an individual player may decide to upgrade a piece breakpoint armor that comes with an interesting modifier (% chance to block or FHR) to explore the possibilities of what it can become.
Rerolling is a common practice in Genshin Impact and other gacha-based games. It is a method used by players to gain access to an item or character that they wouldn't otherwise have. These items can be time-consuming and expensive to obtain, and the RNG does not always work in a positive way. The only choices left are to spend real cash or grind for a long time. Rerolling is very popular in Genshin Impact.
Leveling
When upgrading an item you can pick to increase the level of the weapon or armor. This feature is not available in the current version of the game. I believe that this feature was designed to add some value to rare and expensive items. However, as most items are replaced quite quickly, and can only be upgraded by one level, you'll usually replace it before it gets too old. It's not worth upgrading items with gem sockets because the power of the gem will outweigh any increment in ilvl.
You will be presented with a small box when you click on the upgrade option for an item. It will show the item's template, the Crest, as well as the Valorstone cost to raise the item's level. The costs will vary between armor and weapons as well, with the former typically costing more than the latter. The upgrade template shows the stats that will be added to the upgraded item. It will also list its current ilvl.
The Crest and Valorstone costs are calculated based on the item's current ilvl as well as the upgrade template. Additionally, the ilvl of the new upgraded item will be reduced by the template's lvl reduction percentage. For instance, a weapon with an 8% upgrade decrease will decrease its value by 8-8%.
The item will be upgraded to other stats, like critical strike damage, PvE damages and block, parry and dodge rating in addition to the base level. Those increases are also dependent on the upgrade template.
The amount of defense and damage the item is able to receive when leveled up can be seen below the cost and upgrade decrease percentages in the upgrade template window. In addition to practice equipment, all other weapons and armor gain these same stats when upgraded. The value of these stats will be dictated by the market, with a perfectly rolled piece of armor or weapon able to command much more trade value than non-upp'd versions. This is also true for other pieces of armor, such as circlets and tiaras.
